XXI: The Dawning Begins

A tragic accident at the hospital triggered something inside to heighten my senses of reality, giving me the ability to hear and see words in my head. There were times that my mind was consumed with so many words that I couldn’t even think. For a time it was constant, until I began to write them down. I wrote so much that I was filling up notebooks and starting new ones on a daily basis. I began to read them and realized that each one was telling a story, each one written was such a big part of me and my journey. Each poem is not in a particular sequence but within the stairway of my life. Nothing is ever in a straight line, as there are turns and many different routes to travel. Each poem reflects an emotion, a feeling of time within the space of my life, creating who I am today.
